How It Works
Straight forward and uncomplicated
Life’s crazy enough without worrying about tickets. Open Road Drivers Plan® simplifies a sometimes complicated process. We offer peace of mind when it comes to your tickets.
Step by step: how our plan works
1. Pay your membership fees
2. Call us when you get a ticket
3. We’ll set you up with an attorney
4. Your attorney will appear for you in court
5. We pay your CDL attorney fees
…It’s that easy!
Information we’ll need from your ticket
After you receive a ticket, the first step is to call us and let us know. We’ll need to get some key information from you, like:
- Where the ticket was received
- Court information
- Your ticket number
- What you were issued the ticket for
Once we have that information, we’re off and running. Immediately, we’ll get started calling our CDL attorneys in the area where your ticket was received. It is very important the CDL attorney is local. That way they are familiar with the court, judge, prosecutor and law enforcement in the area where your ticket was received. We tell them all of the key information about your ticket and they tell us they’re happy to help. This process usually takes between one and three days.
Yes – you heard right. At Open Road Drivers Plan, we don’t do any of that “just pay a percentage” of your CDL attorney’s fee nonsense. After all, attorney fees can easily exceed $1,000! You want a legal plan that takes care of everything.
So I don’t pay anything?
The only thing you’ll be responsible for as a member of Open Road Drivers Plan is any court costs or fines associated with the outcome of your traffic case. That’s it.
After your case is completed, you’ll get paperwork from us and your attorney showing the outcome. While you’re not required to, we recommend you keep that paperwork for your records. Of course, we’ll keep a copy too – just in case.
What if I’m being charged with something very serious, like manslaughter?
At Open Road Drivers Plan, we sincerely hope you are never involved in anything like manslaughter. However, we know bad things can happen to good people. Should you be facing charges like vehicular manslaughter, negligent homicide or vehicular homicide charges, you’re covered for that too. Give us a call immediately and we’ll get started right away.
